What is a Physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists are university trained and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sports, health and fitness.
What do I need to bring?
Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring any xrays or scan reports. You may wish to bring comfortable clothing such as shorts and a t-shirt.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, the physiotherapist will discuss their treatment plan for the rehabilitation process with you.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Depending on the nature of your injury, you may be required to remove items of clothing to help your therapist assess the area of interest. You may want bring an appropriate change of clothes (shorts/singlets etc).
How do I make an appointment?

If you are visiting us for the first time, allow 30-40 minutes for your consultation, and please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time to fill out the necessary registration forms.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
No, physiotherapists can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. However, depending on your level of cover, somehealth insurers may require a doctors referral before they authorize cover of fees.
Treatment duration depends on your diagnosis, the severity of your impairments, your past medical history, and other factors. Re-evaluations will be done to assess your progress and your therapist will communicate a treatment and rehabilitation plan with you to suit your desired outcome.

We recommend that you confirm your level of insurance coverage with your provider. Through the HICAPS system, we can check with your health insurance provide to determine if outpatient physical therapy services are covered under your plan.
